Earlier tonight I came across this image. I thought this related well to the class and the world of creativity. Remembering back to one of the first class days we were told to write down what we believed creativity to be. This picture reminded me of that activity as well as what we have learned about creativity thus far in the course. Many of the pieces of art work we have looked at and talked about in class were often out of the norm, that is what I seem to love about them. The artist created something on their own based off of what they may have been feeling and wanted to express and share with others through their work. I think that a lot of people are far to reserved and afraid to share the way that they are feeling or share what they have done because in today's society people are so afraid of being wrong or not fitting in. If people could get past this barrier, I believe that the world of creativity would increase immensely.
I am sure that many of you have heard of the website pinterest. I am so addicted to it and trying as many of the ideas I find on there that I can. This website is so great for anything you could possibly think of. From new recipes  style and hair tips, craft ideas, birthday parties, interior designing and SO many more. I find it so entertaining to go on there and look at all of the different creative things that are posted on the website. I am really into looking at the recipes on the site, it is so interesting to see all the different combinations of ingredients that are used in some of the dishes that I would never think to put together. I also really enjoy the different workout tips they have available on the site! Here is a link to the website if you want to take a look and explore a bit. http://pinterest.com/

Creativity on broadway

This past weekend I took a trip to NYC to see Cinderella on broadway. The show was fantastic! Throughout the show my mother and I could not stop making comments about how we thought they were doing the costume changes and such on stage right in front of everyone. For anybody that is familiar with the story Cinderella you know that there is a lot of "magic" in the story, with pumpkins changing into carriages and Cinderella's rag dress turning into a beautiful blue gown. The way they changed these things on stage must have required so many different aspects going into the production. Everything in the show was so creative!

Jubilee

A family that my family has known and been close to for years lost a child years ago to leukemia. The child's name was Paige and she was only 8 years old when she died. She left behind her mother, her father and her younger sister Alexandra. Paige's death was very hard on her family, as expected it would be. For Paige's mother it was especially hard and she had trouble finding ways to cope with her pain. Paige's mother, Ellen decided to take on writing as a way to help her get what she was feeling out on paper instead of keeping it all built up inside. What started off as writing for therapy soon became Ellen's career. She wrote a children's book titled Jubille, Jubille was a book about what Ellen believed heaven to be like and what she imagined Paige would be doing there. This is such an amazing book with so much creativity involved. I'm 22 years old and still enjoy reading it! Both the creative writing and pictures in it are incredible! I would recommend it to all. Above is a picture of Jubille.
